Conversion of a B-Club 1/144 resin kit
|
Yet another full-actioning deal of a fixed-pose kit in my long, illustrious full-actionizing 'career'. :D I originally finished the kit eons ago. And now seems like a good time to make some real update on it to get it up to the current standard. Ironically though, the structuring is the easy part, I'm just dreaded sanding all over the place to smoothen the previously painted surface. Some detailing of the old kit were updated with current after market parts. The verniers in particular, I managed to damage most of them back then while cutting it, since this was one of the first resin kit I did.
It appears that the large double joint has almost the perfect size for the knee joint replacement. I sawed of the knee guard (not shown here), which comes as one piece together with the dummy joint, and attach it to the lower leg (instead of the joint itself as previous). Skirt armors are joined with the usual spring method. Thankfully there are plenty of space on the waist area to drill on, I don't even have to build any additional support. |
Foot
The long stick of the ball joint also conveniently serves as a pin to connect with the heel. The size of ball joint used here is L.

Arm
The lower arm part is a copy of another B-club Zaku II kit (full-action). Kotobukiya's double-joint just happens to fit quite nicely inside the socket. Shield is connected using Wave's small ball joint. Same goes for the spike shoulder armor on the other side. I had to exercise some cautions when dealing with the shoulder block. Having to drill 3 sides of it to install one poly-cap, and 2 ball sockets, it is quite likely that you'll run out of space and those parts would run into each other. |

Inserting pipe spring (for the waist cable) onto the front piece was a little tricky. The spring keeps forcing the skirt to open up, and it looks totally ridiculous! |
