| The
basis of the figure is centered around the 1/35 Bandai's Gasaraki: Ishtar
Mk.2 kit. I gradually add bits and pieces from other kits as I goes. These
include legs from (Gasaraki) Shinden, and weapons/armors of Nadesico's
Artilerry Battle Frame. |
 |
The rifle
from Artillery Battle Frame's given a simple handle, and detailing.
This, mainly just because I want enable the robot to hold it in manner
other than firing pose.
|
 |
Adding
claws to the feet was meant to represent the vulture's feet, while steer
away from being easily recognized as the Shinden's leg/feet.
The pin
size of Ishtar kit (upper leg) and Shinden kit (lower leg) is different.
In this case the joining piece is attached with different size of rods
on each side.

Extended
the arm by 5mm. The hands are a copy of my favorite Kotobukiya's metal
hand. Just goes to show how cheap I am, not wanting to waste the original
on this. |
 |
I tried
to to stay away from the obvios shinden look (the turret is a dead give
away) by altering the face. This treatment was meant to embody a bird-like
creature. As always, this wouldn't be complete without my standard super
cheap radome.

My
stock of Wave's G-Tanks finally has some uses. |
 |
"Cockpit"
hatch (well, it's not actually a manned robot ere) taken from (I think)
backpack of the Shinden. Had to cut off in the middle a bit to fit. I
also couldn't resist my instinct Gundam aesthetics, I had to add the intake
parts to either side of the chest. :D |
 |
Sure's
not the most elegant way of mounting the shoulder thingies, but hey it
gets the job done. |
 |
This
time, the painting seesion was done in a trapped basement, with no efficient
ventilation. Had to run upsatir gasoing for air every once in a while. |
 |
Phew,
finally.
It probably
come as no surprise that the weight on the back is a bit heavy, rendering
the kit quite unstable at times. For this reason, a couple of small
propellant tanks are used to act as support behinf the leg.
