Gerbera Tetra

Bandai 1/144 injection kit

This project, I originally meant for Hobby Japan's OraZaku contest, but obviously, I didn't make it in time. Actually, I stopped quite a few weeks before the deadline, since too many things came up at the time. Well, there's always next year.

So far, I made mostly sketches and not much on the building itself.

Head

The main features for the head is a movable mono-eye. First, I started by filling the inner structure with putty, so that I can drill a hole for the mono-eye shaft.

The movable part itself is made out of 8mm pipe, with a poly cap in the center. The rear mono-eye area is incresed a little, to give a clearer view of it when attach a helmet.

Comparing with unaltered version. The placement of the top helmet will have to chage slightly, to accompany the mono-eye mechanism. I also preferred larger eye slid.

Body

The neck used here is cut from GP03S kit, with a small ball joint on top. There's going to be quite a lot of detail/wiring around the neck area.
I separated the waist from the main body, and added some 3mm to it. Underneath is a washer (which will also add to the overall height) that housed a poly cap. While inside the waist piece, I use ball joint to join with upper part.
This show a section view of how the waist and ball joint suppose to connect with upper body part.

Leg

Inside of the upper leg is made removable by installing a poly cap inside the lower half, and put a rod under the upper. The side armor is cut away, to make an openable sabre holder with hinge joint.

For weapon, so far, I have separated the magazine pack and enlarge it a little. As well as the front propellant tank (or whatever the thing supposed to be).
